Red Deer: Noble, the Majestic Monarch

Noble, our red deer, lives up to his name with his imposing antlers and regal stance. Found across Europe and parts of Asia, red deer are known for their grace and strength, and Noble is no exception. He was born in the zoo as part of a breeding program to help increase the population of these iconic woodland creatures.

During the autumn rutting season, Noble’s deep, resonant calls can be heard throughout the zoo, attracting the attention of visitors and rival stags alike. He’s a favorite among photographers, who often capture him standing proudly against the backdrop of golden leaves. Keepers share that Noble enjoys simple pleasures, such as grazing in the lush meadow of his enclosure or wallowing in mud during warm days. His presence helps raise awareness about the challenges deer face in the wild, from habitat loss to hunting pressures.
