Black-faced Miner: Chirpy, the Tiny Troublemaker

Chirpy, our black-faced miner, may be small, but he has a personality as big as the sky. Native to Australia, these birds are known for their loud, melodious calls and their sociable nature. Chirpy, true to his name, is always vocalizing, filling the aviary with his lively songs.

Chirpy’s favorite activity is darting around the aviary, showing off his incredible agility to visitors. He’s particularly curious and often inspects new objects introduced into his habitat, whether it’s a shiny piece of fruit or a mirror toy provided by keepers. Chirpy also enjoys interacting with other birds, sometimes playfully chasing them in flight. Visitors are often charmed by his inquisitive nature and the bond he has formed with his caretakers, who affectionately call him the “little explorer.” His story is a wonderful way to educate people about the unique and vibrant ecosystems of Australia.
